“Aleph with Beth is inherently engaging from the start. It does not feel like work, and it is not boring either. It respects you and doesn’t condescend, but it also takes as much time and joyful repetition as you need to learn each word and structure one at a time. After watching the videos my brain feels tired, but while watching them, I feel energised.” —Carla Hunt, Latin & Greek Teacher (read her whole blog post on Aleph with Beth here)

“Having taken 2 semesters of Hebrew and Hebrew Exegesis classes, I still felt that I knew nothing. Other online classes and podcasts have been too complicated, philosophical and rather discouraging. However, your videos have been amazing. Super super helpful and I finally feel that I am making some progress. So, thank you!” —Manuel

“I’m still in awe of the level of skill and knowledge that goes into making these videos constantly progress yet remain comprehensible and of the organisation that must go into scheduling all the built-in review of key vocabulary and structures. The biggest compliment I can pay you is that Biblical Hebrew was NOT a language on my wishlist and yet here I am so far into the playlist! I’m enjoying it too much to stop. Maybe I’m actually going to learn this language now! As an EFL teacher, I want to learn to teach this way. You are both an inspiration.” —Martin

“It’s surprising to me how fast I remembered the words with this style of learning. I have attempted to learn Biblical Hebrew the traditional way and came away with small portions. I am inspired and excited to learn this language through your free classes. I believe it will have a great impact on my bible study. God bless you and the ministry you have been given and Christ be exalted.” —Rudytru

“Thank you for these videos! I had an incredible experience today when I looked up a passage, and I could, for the most part, follow along when I noticed construct forms and prepositions used with both words we have and haven’t learned yet. Thank you!” —Derrick

“You two are developing the sort of program that is actually needed to teach this language. I’m delighted to support your efforts to bring the Hebrew Bible to life in the hearts and minds of eager seekers. I must say that as I continue to watch your videos, I am astonished at the care you have shown to integrate previous bits into later segments. Sometimes rather humorously! All the time scaffolding material as you go. A pedagogically sound approach. I’m also impressed with the way the Hebrew Bible passages are handled: scroll unfolding, text on the screen, well-paced reading (with repetition), and even pointing at the BHS page. Nicely thought out! I can’t imagine all the work that goes into these videos. It’s truly remarkable.” —David Pleins, author of Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary by Conceptual Categories

“I have developed a love of Hebrew through my love of the bible, particularly Psalm 119, but I thought learning biblical Hebrew might be a step too far.
But now I see it’s not.” —Christopher

“A millions years ago, when I was at school, my German teacher told us if you are going to learn a foreign language you MUST think in that language, not think in English and translate. These lessons cause you to do just that. I understand the reading in Hebrew; I am not translating it to understand it.” —ForFreedomAlone

“I use your Hebrew Readers app and your YouTube channel to aid my students’ learning skills. Your teaching method is unique and innovative and we believe that innovation is the key to success. My students follow your channel and they watch your videos frequently. We used your material in our class activities. “I love your method ! You really helped me read the Hebrew language. Now I’m in the intermediate level of learning Hebrew, but you with Abram helped me build the foundation. Love from India! Thanks a lot! May God bless you, and help you continue your work!” —Sanjay

“I am so excited about the Hebrew lessons you have on YouTube… But the Bible translation project folks I am working with in Nigeria are even more excited than I am. In fact, I am working with 6 translation consultants-in-training in southern Nigeria who will be studying Hebrew as part of their growth plans.” —John

“Your efforts are so valuable! Firstly, I’m finding the videos great to supplement my own Hebrew learning. However, I’m also about to start coordinating a Bible translation project (starting with Genesis) and I’m seriously considering supplementing the training with your videos. They provide an opportunity for the translators to learn some Hebrew that is otherwise next-to-impossible in my context. Keep up the great work!” —Tobias

“I’m a Jewish American and I live in a tiny little rural town in the Midwest. I found myself with a great desire to learn Hebrew with no local resources. The internet has resources, but they are often junk or expensive and you don’t know what you are getting until after you put down your money. Then I found this channel and I was faced with a serious problem. I think this is the best online resource for learning Hebrew hands down, and yet there is a non-Jew teaching it. After some serious thought and prayer, I decided that this is where I was going to start my Hebrew journey. After spending several weeks here I am more convinced than ever that this was the right decision. Our teacher here is kind and good. There is no secondary agenda that I have seen; it’s just Hebrew.” —Anonymous

“I’ve been a subscriber from the very beginning, and I just wanted to stop in again and thank you both – from the bottom of heart – for what you are doing to make Biblical Hebrew more accessible. As I said before, I’ve been struggling along on my own for a year now, and I have enthusiastically embraced your organic approach, where you are building grammar and vocabulary from the ground up. I followed the links you posted of your other projects, and I discovered your graded Hebrew books. I have tears in my eyes typing this because reading The Flood story just now is the first time in a year I have felt a sense of accomplishment with all the work I have done for the past year.
